Evangelism
Vision
There are two phases of evangelism at Harvest Fellowship: Outreach Events and Lifestyle Evangelism! Both are necessary and needed for the church to effectively reach the lost and become radical mature disciples of Jesus.

The First Phase is the Outreach Events!
Harvest Outreach events are scheduled where a number of people from the church gather together to share their faith either by serving, gathering in parks for service or giving to the community. The goal is to make a great impact in our city by working together. Outreach Events are scheduled below and include soda / water bottle giveaways, free BBQ’s, Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas toy giveaways.

The Second Phase is Lifestyle Evangelism!

Lifestyle Evangelism is living out your faith in real and practical ways! As you go about your day to day lives opportunities come up to do random acts of kindness. The idea is to cultivate a lifestyle of evangelism where our individual acts of serving and kindness are seen corporately instead of individually. Evangelism cards are given to everyone so they can give out these cards to people along the way. For instance, if you are driving through McDonalds you can pay for the car behind you and leave a Harvest Evangelism Card with the cashier to give to the people in the car behind you to let them know they were “recipients of a kind act” from Harvest Fellowship! This gives people a point of reference (Harvest Fellowship) when they are ready or open for a need for God in their lives. A quote from Steve Sjogren states, “Servant Evangelism wins the heart before it confronts the mind. A small act of kindness nudges a person closer to God, often in a profound way as it bypasses ones mental defenses. The average Christ-follower is willing to hand a stranger a can of cold Coke on a hot day (low risk). The high grace is seen in the typical reaction. “Oh, thank you!” “This is so nice!” “I can’t believe this is for free!” And, “Why are you doing this?”
Kindness builds the bridge for the person to receive a touch of love from God. It’s simple, practical, effective, inexpensive and fun!” http://www.servantevangelism.com/main.cfm

Evangelism Quote
September 2010
“No strategy, tactics, or clever marketing campaign could ever clear away the smokescreen that surrounds Christianity in today’s culture. The perceptions of outsiders will change only when Christians strive to represent the heart of God in every relationship and situation.” – Gabe Lyons, unChristian, Baker Books, 2007, p. 226
