Volunteer Opportunities at
Harvest Fellowship
Welcome to the Volunteer Opportunities page. At Harvest Fellowship, we believe that everyone has something to contribute and everyone can play a part. You do not have to be a formal member to serve in most of these positions. We are a church of ordinary people and when we serve, our efforts are energized by an extraordinary God.
So, whether you are new to the church or if you have been attending for years, if you are ready to get connected, we welcome you and are excited to have you join in this adventure with God.
Listed below are the various volunteer opportunities at Harvest Fellowship. Feel free to browse and if you find a couple opportunities that you are interested in looking into further, please use the reply form provided at the bottom of the page to contact the church office and discuss your next step.
If you are not sure where to serve, that’s okay. We can help. Ask about the Network class that is offered in our Life Groups. This class will help you think about where you might begin serving.
A/V People needed to help on Sunday Morning! See Aaron Sutton or email him at: akasutton@gmail.com
Cleaning Crew – The Harvest Fellowship church building is cleaned weekly by volunteers. This involves: cleaning upstairs bathrooms, vacuuming the sanctuary and foyer, mopping the entrances, cleaning downstairs bathrooms, vacuuming the two classrooms, hallways, and traffic areas of the fellowship hall, and emptying garbage cans. This can take a family 3-4 hours, and makes a great family service project. Also consider volunteering with another family or your life group. There are many open weeks that need volunteers. Please contact the office to schedule a week.
Children’s Church Teachers – Do you love God’s Word and children? Would you like to communicate scriptural truths to children? (Training provided) The curriculum, Children Desiring God, teaches scriptural truths in a way that makes the Bible come alive for the children (and the teacher!). Contact Kari Watkins at: harvestmnkids@gmail.com
Prep Time: 1-1.5 hours per week. Ministry Time: During 10:30 Service on Sunday mornings, September – May.

Care Ministry is the hands and feet of Jesus to our church. “DivorceCare 4 Kids” volunteer job description:
DC4K is a biblically-based, Christ-centered ministry tool designed to bring help and healing to children (ages 5-12) of divorce. It points them to God and introduces them to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is a comprehensive 13-week program designed to run concurrently with the adult DivorceCare program, currently led by Tim & Julie Goodner at Harvest Fellowship on Sunday evenings during the school year.
DC4K is in need of two leaders and 2-4 helpers who are called to serve in this ministry to kids. The leaders and helpers would alternate every other week (hopefully we will have 2 backup helpers.) Along with about two class hours every other Sunday, prep and planning requires about 2-3 hours before class. The curriculum is very teacher-friendly, with lots of extra helps.
Personal requirements are a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a love for kids in need of this healing ministry, and a call from the Lord to serve them. If you’re feeling a tug toward this work, please pray for His leading. If he says ‘yes,’ please call Gail Currier at 320-251-0342 or curriergail@yahoo.com. We’re hoping to have volunteers in place for the winter semester, beginning in January 2011.
Evangelism Team There is always a place for you to serve. Contact Elizabeth Siekawitch, Evangelism Administrator at liz.harvestmn@gmail.com

Greeter’s Ministry – The greeter welcomes regular members and visitors with a smile as they arrive, distribute the bulletin, direct newcomers and let them know where the Children’s Church is if necessary. The greeter also hands out the “Information Requested” forms, brochures, and Bibles to all who are interested.
Time Commitment: Arrive 15 minutes early to be ready to greet one service a month.
Mentor moms – a mom with older children who sits with the moms and is willing to share wisdom from God’s Word and her own life experiences.
MOPs stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and is an outreach ministry of Harvest Fellowship. Through ministering to the felt needs of mothers with young children, MOPs also shares how a relationship with Jesus Christ can fill their deepest need. MOPs draws women from the community and is a unique way to reach out with the love of Christ.
MOPPETS childcare workers – any able-bodied and willing persons that want to help care for the children in our MOPPETS ministry. We share the love of Christ with the little ones through songs, bible stories and crafts. (Curriculum is prepared – we just need helpers!)
