Old Testament Class

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

The scripture used by Jesus and the Apostles is what we now know as the Old Testament. The goal of this course is to consider the Old Testament in light of its contributions to a right understanding of God’s redemptive provision, as it is revealed through the law, history, poetry and prophecy. A clear understanding of the Old Testament is foundational to all the teaching of the New Testament and therefore fundamental for the church today.

CLASS OBJECTIVES:

ACADEMIC: That the student will demonstrate a basic understanding of the Old Testament and some of the historical, archaeological and contextual backgrounds of the times of the Old Testament.

BEHAVIORAL: That each student would be challenged toward a greater hunger for a deep understanding of God’s message revealed to us throughout the Old Testament, and that they would develop a working understanding of the Old Testament and an ability to share this knowledge with the world.
